Reflection

Compared to my Microteaching lesson of two weeks ago, I noticed that I have improved my skills to speak in a more engaging way, rather than tending to use the same voice tone and volume. Moreover, I agree with the personal strengths mentioned by my peers in the feedback session, so I am very proud of my performance.

However, at the beginning of the lessons I did not express as much enthusiasm as I expected I would and again, like during my Microteaching class, I did not present the learning outcomes in an engaging way. Moreover, I tended to speak to the board quite often, without realising it, which is something I definitely want to change: I find it slightly disrespectful towards the students -even if it was not my intention- and, when it comes to teenagers, there is the risk that they disengage because I would not notice it, since I am facing the board and not them. Lastly, I agree once again with the feedback I received, which means that I have to improve my PowerPoint presentations.

My goals for the next lessons are: to improve my technological skills, in order to make my PowerPoint presentations clearer; to improve the presentation of the lesson aims; to face the students during the whole lesson and only face the board when necessary.

Overall, I am highly satisfied with this lesson and motivated to work on my areas of development.
